Advanced Placement courses are offered in English Language and English Literature, World History, American History, American Government, European History, Human Geography, Calculus AB/BC, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Computer Science, Spanish Language and Literature, Statistics, Psychology, French, Studio Art, and Music Theory. The prerequisites vary according to each discipline. Applicants to the program are recommended on an individual basis by the guidance department, teachers, and department chairpersons. Students are required to take Advanced placement exams in May. These exams may qualify students for college credits. Participation in AP courses gives students excellent preparation for college and university studies. Students who score a Level III or above on the Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test (FCAT-SSS) are strongly encouraged to make Advanced Placement and/or Dual Enrollment courses their first choices in scheduling.
