Drawing and Painting I is an introductory course which provides for the study of composition in drawing, painting and design, including its symbolic use in aesthetic expression. Function of line and mass in visual terms will be studied. Two-dimensional expressions in art history will be examined for transition and influence toward contemporary art. Materials will include felt tip pens, pencils, pastels, tempera, and watercolor.
