The Cultural Society was started in 1982 by a group of aspiring young leaders who wanted to unite the ethnic groups on campus. The sponsor then and now is Mrs. Foster, a 34 veteran teacher of Broward Country and 33 year teacher at Plantation High School. In an effort to pass the torch, the sponsorship changed to Ms.Renee Grant in 2006, but Ms.Grant relocated and Mrs. Foster resumed sponsorship in 2007.
The purpose of the organization is to promote leadership activities and projects that will unite ethnic groups and promote awareness that we are one world one people. This organization thrives on that motto and the reality that we must respect cultural differences and appreciate culture similarities if the school, community, and the world are to project a fierce sense of brotherhood and unity.
